I had invited Abe to join me last Sunday to see the newly-blooming garden. We had a great time, and I even got to watch two glass artists at work in the studio of the art center. Today my guest was less interested in the art and more in tune with nature.
This is the bench by the river where I sit and read on Sunday afternoons when it's warm out.

The grounds are just starting to take shape. I spoke briefly with the gardener and thanked him for providing such a peaceful place of respite for me.
On the back door of one of the studios is this great sign.
This flower bed changes colors every month or so.
The ornamental grasses have been cut way back to reveal the statuary.
Remember the pergola? Imbedded in the garden are green speakers that emit sounds when a passerby triggers the sensor. Sophie was briefly intrigued by the rushing water, but then she ignored subsequent crickets, gongs and wind.
We had a great time. Can you tell?

I loved being able to sneak a peak at the places you wander to and relax in. And Sophie was a wonderful guide. Great fun!
I love that Sophie has become part of the volunteer staff at the Church. She is a happy girl in that final image (I see what you mean about her being a cousin of my parents' dog). I think I have wandered by some of those same spots, when my brother-in-law still lived in Indy. The riverwalks are such a wonderful addition to the city.

OK I know people protect the identity of their children on line by not showing their faces, but until the end, I thought that you were trying to protect Sophie. :) Absolutely gorgeous pictures. Even with the doggy behinds.
That is hilarious, Meo. Sophie is the only family member who is "out" so far. She was just too involved in the ground news to look up.
And the Sophmeister's upside-down Y doggy behind is visible even in the dark.

Going for walks with my dog is one of my favorite things to do. I'm at college now, and I know a professor who lets me borrow her dog sometimes when I want to get that feeling back. It looks like you two had a great time.

What a wonderful walk you have here! I love the spot by the river, which must be quite wonderful for lounging with some sweet words, or even just one's own thoughts.
