Overheard: Classic Rock

Ben and I were riding in the car, listening to one of our favorite classic rock stations. The Eagles came on.

Me: "Can't they play ANYTHING else? It's always the same stuff."

Ben: "They don't make new classic rock, Mom."

Me: "Oh. Yeah."

Someone points out the same thing,
There is no 'new music". Boomers want the same tunes over and over.
Younger folks have their music, but they don't listen to the radio; they listen to their ipods or whatever. So radio networks cater to Boomers - who want their music, not 'all that racket"

The best is when you hear a song and you say outloud "When the hell did this become Classic Rock?!" *sigh*

Still there is enough fabulous classic rock to keep it fresh for a really long time. But then again, it is The Eagles.....

I love many Eagles' songs. But I've had it with "Hotel California." Haven't they heard of "Seven Bridges Road?" How come I don't hear that one?

More often than not these days, I play my iPod in my car. And I get my new music from my son and my online friends.

I have a theory that commercial stations only have 25 tracks in total.
